How to become a teacher at Bourton Meadow ITTC
Bourton Meadow ITTC offer training for Graduates who are interested in teaching in the Primary sector.
From September 2007 we will also have a number of Secondary places for Maths and Science
Anyone wishing to train with us must already have a degree.
The TTA also insist that potential trainees have GCSEs ( or equivalent O levels) in
Maths (Grade A-C),
English (Grades A-C)
Science (Grades A- C).
Previous experience working with children is very desirable.
We have one intake of Trainees per academic year.
We advertise for candidates early in the Spring term each year.
Suitable candidates are then invited to attend a two-day selection process, which includes practical activities and a formal interview.
Each trainee has an individual training plan, which maps out their programme for the year.
The course is thorough and meets all the standards of Qualified Teacher Status.
The taught elements of the training are included in this plan and delivered every Wednesday in the training centre.
The time spent in classroom teaching or observing is also written into the plan.
Training activities, tutorials and guidance is given by a range of subject specialists
We draw on a wide range of other experts some of whom are nationally and internationally well known.
